Food Review: My Burger Lab @ Seapark - 14 Jalan 21/22

Finally, after hearing about it like a million times from everyone that Burger Lab is a must-try, I finally had my dose last Friday.

I actually went in with an expectation of an overpriced, overhyped burger that was simply unique because the  bun was black in colour.

I came out blown that I have found my new favourite burger place (minus the mad crowd dash).

You know you've reached the right place when you see the crowds just crowding around one shop in the whole of Seapark.  There's nothing here that remotely qualifies as a happening place or a place one would expect to find the hottest burger place in town.

Uhh. I would like a ... beautiful mess.
Had a great chat with one of the 6 partners, Andrew (I hope it is Andrew, I'm terrible at names) and learned that the buns, the patty, and just about everything there are made in-house.

Oh did I mention - they only open for 5 hours a day between 5.30pm - 10.30pm.

There's barely enough room to wiggle.
One thing I love about their ordering system is that they take your name down even with a number - which really makes it a nice friendly touch when they call out your name when your burger is ready - not just some chime and an electronic screen on the wall that reads out your number like some prisoner.

Barely enough room to wiggle inside the kitchen as well - but boy does those patties on the grill look amazing.
It seems it used to take like 40-45 minutes for orders to be served through the crazy crazy crowd (will not stop emphasising this) - but I definitely didn't experience that. I felt although being like number 15 in the current queue, it took a surprising 20 minutes - an impressive feat.

Apparently, improvements have been made to the kitchen workflow basically to target to bring the waiting time when the order is made and when the burger is served down to 20 - 25 minutes max, and I must say it is working quite well.

Find a seat.. if you're a ninja.
And finally....

The "beautiful mess" that I ordered tastes and looks amazing, and yes it did become a huge mess. Something about their burger just tastes amazing, and even the vege used in the burger actually looks fresh off the farm and not something that has been stuffed in a freezer for a month.

The meat patty isn't the slightest dry - something I noticed in alot of other places where the patties are too dry. The bun actually makes it look weird if not terrible, but everything else in there is just mouth-watering. Soft, juicy patties served on fresh burger buns with melted cheese will make even burger-haters drool.

I don't know enough adjectives to accurately describe this other than it-is-amazing.

The fries are also served with some sort of spice/herb mixture and a slightly spicy dip - both which I absolutely, absolutely LOVE.

The deco around the shop was done by their very own in-house designer, one of the 6 partners which definitely have the skill.

Finally - when it's starting to quiet down. Believe those are some of the partners - the two guys left of the pic.

Awesome mirror design I could not resist taking a picture off though I look like I'm camwhoring lol.
You will not find a more bias review than this - I simply love both their burgers and fries and looking forward to returning to try the other stuff on their menu soon!
