When the curtain falls..
First of all, students ONLY? You don't get other human beings from Australia, U.K., U.S/ Philippines? No businessman, visitors, ambassadors, animals, whatever? To even suggest a blanket self-quarantine for ONLY students, you've now become the single target of hatred (I'd use a stronger word, but this blog is self-rated suitable for public viewing of all ages) for thousands of Malaysian students abroad.
Idiot.. Wat an idiot to ruin my end of exams..
Okay, now that the exams are over, my bloody room looks like the result of an animal stampede. I've no more clothes, papers and books have replaced my carpet, plates and about 5 cups piling up in the sink, and clothes all lying in piles around.
Oh and I'm going back Malaysia tonite, so we'll all see how things work out, wont we?
Sleepy. Oh wait. I just woke up.

To Malaysians, without hope.
As I said, Malaysians are predictable, if not gullible. It doesn't take too much effort to see how the general typical self-centered malaysians would act. Their instant reaction to this news is to curse that teen girl, curse people from Melbourne, and then only lastly curse the virus. Their favourite pasttime is to curse kick and complain without lifting a finger unless it benefits them.
The focus of this article was on this girl. Oh this girl is the very cause of our H1N1 problems! she spreads the virus locally to maybe 20 ppl! I can just begin to imagine the imaginary angry masses with torches and pitchforks chanting "burn her! burn her!" in the background. Oh please..
At the very least, they didn't release her name or any other details. But this blog post is about Malaysians, and the media. The thing is, where we should be hoping for her quick recovery, we are cursing her away.. No doubt if she was known to the public, she'd receive all kinds of threats by now, even death threats.
Of course all of this I'm speaking based on nothing but my very poor perception of the people, but judging that being a Malaysian myself, and if you are being honest with yourself about the general masses Malaysians, you would agree with me too.
I'm going to go back Malaysia in 2 weeks, and I swear none of them better give me any trouble.. Ive been looking forward to go back ever since I booked my flight. Now I'm dreading it for this very one reason.. Imagine, to go back home, I'd have to dread and fear the oh-so-paranoid authorities just too eager to maybe catch people incoming from Melbourne before they "import" in the virus.
So there, a piece of my very annoyed mind. My wishes goes out to her, and to all other people who have gotten sick to get well soon.

A few words to the msian govt, theStar..
Pandemic? Its so ridiculous its overblown to this extent.. Its been reported that the symptoms in healthy adults are so mild that there's no reason to even see a GP. So, a flu milder than normal flu. nationwide panic and fear of suddenly everything. we should all bow to each other now? then we shouldnt be eating out, since the cutlery could be unclean, sit the bus or train, since its a moving sardin can of people, go to office, or even the supermarket? so, close all the restaurants, shut down the public transport, mandatory leave for all? Everyone should stay at home and grow vegetables!
Stop treating swine flu like it isnt part of your problems. Stop treating it like we are the cause. So paranoid? Then close your borders. I'm coming home this holidays, and none of you better give me any of the quarantine shit. I dont care if d pilot was sick or the passenger on d plane I sit on was sick. If some of you there are geographically impaired, Australia is located down south and thus is experiencing one hell of a cold winter right now. never heard of a winter flu? If we are really sick with H1N1 flu, which I doubt we can even tell from a normal winter flu, we'll stay put on our own.
H1N1. big deal. leave us alone.

10 "facts" of life during exams..
2. Time, gravity, relative quantum physics do not apply when exams period is here. Time speeds up the fastest one week before the exam. This phenomenon, known as "Hell's Time" is baffling experts.
3. Every creatures mention in #1 has probably broken the Guinness World Record for the longest hours stayed awake, longest continuous study, highest blood pressure recorded, highest stress level recorded, highest stress rate recorded, highest depression rate recorded, highest percentage of suicidal rate, and highest amount of caffeine consumption, making them world champions by superhuman standards, beating even the champions "Ironman" competition.
4. Coffee is drank as a psychological factor. Caffeine doesnt really have any effect. The "cool" factor in holding a coffee cup while sipping slowly and angering Monash guards who point towards the huge, huge, NO FOOD NO DRINKS sign, which can be read from an aeroplane, in lost hope are the source of students superpowers as mentioned in #3.
5. It is possible to live on campus for several days at a go. Bring toiletries. The duration spent on campus during the last week of uni just before the exams has been mathematically proven to be significantly greater than total amount time spent on campus for the entire semester using the following formulae: T = MC2
6. Vending machines and seven eleven can raise their prices 10 fold and still find that June and October are the most profitable times in a year. The vending machine need to be bashed tilted shaked rocked kicked punched moved tortured in the event you paid $2.50 for a packet of M&Ms and it doesnt fall down, hanging on the the very edge of the rack.
7. You see the same people sitting in the same positions in the same computer labs/rooms if you come often enough. You can even make friends with the security who will help you get a room when you really need one while others squat in every dark corner of a very big creepy building (building H).
8. Laughing maniacs zombies roam the hallways and study group rooms at the wee hours of the night. These creatures are believed to have lost all sense of logical thinking and can be heard 3 floors up and 3 floors down, fuelling worries that such disease is contagious.
9. Blogs owned by students will suddenly see a big spike in update frequency. such as this one.
10. The entire continent of Australia moves physically south towards the south pole and makes south pole its neighbour as exam times near. At the same time, typhoons from Japan also migrate to Australia to make its way to Monash Melb U RMIT Deakin. The combination of these 2 effects is called as the "exam-mood affected weather", freezing anyone who tries to go home after dark. Extensive research is being conducted to determine if students mood is affecting the weather.

The tale of Monash & water dispensers..
my goodness! when was winter ever this cold? or have i gone skinner n hence my natural protection is reduced? *day dreaming here* ARGH. combine that to being on campus at 6am in d morning and the nearest water dispenser being in another friggin building across half the campus! ARGH!
Monash is a scrooge. Water dispensers must be extraordinarily expensive in australia, since it seems there is only one water cooler in caulfield. yes one. Only one that I know off. Only one that is accessible 24 hours at least since its along the corridor. One/Satu water cooler for d whole of caulfield campus. Building H study nid to walk across the campus to get WATER. building T study even further. By the time I go out, get the water, and come back, my body fails to recognize I still have hands. *if you monash people are reading this, (and i hope you are), have more water dispensers around!*
We used to have a tap in building T (24 hour com labs). now its replaced by 3 very nice new shiny com labs but instead of being open 24 hours, its locked 24 hours. meanwhile the existing 2 general com labs are crammed packed. I wonder where the logic is... Its there. The computers are on. The building is open. the labs are not.
I actually wrote a long rant about other stuff in monash. more serious stuff.. the stuff above arent serious.. but it would be great if they did listen and improve on it.. which they wont and so I dont bother trying.
Unfortunately, the rant i spoke about earlier will not be published until I graduate from fear of victimization. There are more grunts and complaints about monash than meets the eye, and frustration, anger, and disappointment runs high in students who has had gotten ill advice, no advice, or simply ignored. Talk to most, most wouldnt even have dealt with the admin staff and would tell you nothing's wrong. The fact it is isnt so. I'm specifically talking about only the admin staff of monash, not the academic staff - whom are mostly great people by the way. Why isnt there evaluations for the faculty admin staff? Cant they have anonymous feedback boxes? - which shouldnt go to the faculty but someone higher up, even higher than the course manager.
I am personally very disappointed on how things worked out for me in Monash. It was partly my fault for getting ill advice from outside sources, but otherwise I'm disappointed, angry, and bitter at Monash, at their non-existant advice despite requests, false pretenses, and really almost no regard for the students' welfare, and myself. If only someone would listen..

Its... c...c...cold...
I havent slept in a while.. how long is "awhile" i shall leave it entirely up to ur imagination.. With these kind of weather, I wonder why it hasnt start snowing already! I expect to see snow falling from the sky!
Australian weather forecast for rain is such a big contrast with malaysia's... Below are the equivalent terms:
Australia / Malaysia
Light showers / No rain
Showers / Drizzle
Heavy Showers & strong winds / Rain
Hailstorm & warning for heavy gale winds / Heavy rain
Oh btw, whenever there's a weather warning we'll get sms warnings =.="
Also, I think metrologist in malaysia has a pretty simple job...
Oh wat on earth am i rambling about.. I'm still in uni.. How long have i been in uni? "a while" *think twilight*

Devastating truth.
I just found out that the Anzac biscuits, a staple food to me, especially during exams is extremely fattening. T.T
Imagine I have 2 packets in my house at any given time... and I usually eat them wid coffee like a full meal by itself.. imagine! one meal like that is worse than a full large plate of pasta!!!
so, bye bye bye anzac, d last packet for a very very long time.

Piorities gone wrong..
Todays headlines from TheStar and other sources.
- Maid’s sexual ordeal
- Heartless attacks on old folk
- Road bully in his 30s assaults 72-year-old man
- 3-year-old hospitalised after brutal rape by drunken youth
and many many more like this every day.. To Malaysia and ourselves I ask, where is our hearts as malaysians? What has led to this sickening daily happenings? why isnt there a cry of unjust and anger? or are we simply too selfish to bother unless it happens to us?
Where are the outrage and action from the authorities? the politicians, the police, the courts... where are they all? The politicians act like it isnt happening, the police tells u that u r responsible for yourself, and the courts doesnt work. once, after a robbery at a CIMB bank branch, the police blasted the bank for not having a 24 hour security guard.. yes thats rite, the police is blaming the bank.. absurdity.. the bank responded in saying they feel like a rape victim thats been blame for wearing a skirt too short..
They're all perhaps too busy bickering over politics and elections, and power grabs.. our politicians are self-serving, and all the media attention is always towards boycotting this and boycotting that because this post and that post was not given to them.. disgraceful and downright shameful.. others involve demanding for this and that post. for goodness sake, you are a disgrace.
Respect the courts, respect the king, the rakyat is told by these people.. have you tried respecting the rakyat? At this rate, the country is lost, like a sinking ship, unless we start bringing out tools to mend the ship.. to the minds of many, if not all, is such trouble worth it? There's risk for merely voicing out opinions these days.. what more a real change.. lastly, i quote RPK in more or less his words..
"Citizens from india are called indians,
citizens from china are called chinese,
citizens from malaysia are called malaysians"

Staring into the past, the present, and the future..
I wonder where all these uncertainly will lead us in the end.. why dreams seem so distant, and pursuing them requires courage to go against all odds.. Don't fret if you cant follow the flow of this post, I'm typing this without giving it so much as a second thought. Hands at the keyboard types along with my thoughts as soon as they appear..
Letting go a soft sigh, I remember my vow never to regret, but cannot help wondering how t hings would be so different even if the path I walked had changed just a little. One thing leads to another, if I had not done this, then this this and this wouldnt have happen.. such a different fate.. such a foolish thought..
Thinking what I want to do in life, thinking how to sustain to do the things I want to do, and never forgettin my parents, family, relatives, and loved ones.. I talk about being less talk, but cant help it but feel im nothing but talk..
Hold fast and steady, I aspire to have the strength to change and dictate my own path.. as I've always wanted to..
Apologies about the blog post today. There's nothing going on unless u want to hear about my oh-so-interesting time at the library or at my desk studying.. Random pics taken over the past 6 months below..
Random pics: Torquay during easter break wid former EY interns
Random Pics: K3 reunion dinner, @ melb, missing a few people..
